In the beginning the band was called Disneyland After Dark, but the Disney concern didn't like this name, so they had to change to d.a.d. In 1995 when they released Helpyourselfish, the name was changed to D:A:D. The band had seen this on a fan letter, and thought it looked nice. When Everything Glows hit the road in 2000, the name this time was D-A-D due to the internet.

Molly has always been the logo of D-A-D. In the beginning they had a real cow skull on the scene, but it got stolen. Later they got a huge cow skull in back of the scene, and it has changed its look many time. Molly is always to be found on the covers. But on Soft Dogs you have to look very close to find her.
